Lima History

At Lima we firmly believe that life is better when we do so in harmony with ourselves and with all other life on earth.

We have been acting on that principle for more than 65 years, ever since Lima was founded in 1957 by Pierre Gevaert, who was inspired by George Ohsawa, the Japanese founder of Macrobiotics.

George believed in the philosophy of Yin and Yang which is based on one main principle: the harmony between opposing yet complementary elements. He wanted to apply this principle to everything and especially to nutrition.
